Notes: This is a beautiful natural mahogany snare drum with a date stamp of September 1937 (3709). The drum is in excellent condition with all original parts and hardware with minimal to no wear.
The nickel plating still shines nicely. The mahogany shell has been re-lacquered due to the deterioration of the original lacquer. The snares are also original individually adjustable wire snares.
The lugs are tapped (no inserts) making this a drum which collectors designate as an “Anniversary” model. Shortly after this drum was made (late 1937 onward) the Imperial lug was redesigned to include inserts.
None of the lugs on this drum are stripped out. This drum would make an excellent players or collectors drum. The natural Mahogany wood shell is really vibrant in color and sound, an absolutely gorgeous drum.
