Leedy

1932

5” x 14” Brass with black nickel plating

$1,000
Model: Elite

Lug Type and Number: 8 "box" lugs

Condition: Fair

Extra Holes or Modifications:  see below

Notes:  This rare drum comes from a private collection and has been left un-touched. The shell is the Leedy (Ludwig) one piece heavy brass shell from the 1930’s.  The engraving is the rare Leedy
“Thunderbird” engraving used on Leedy’s Black Elite “Full Dress” models of the period.  The hardware is chromium plated except for the Speedy Way throw-off which is nickel.  (Not unusual for the day to
have mixed plating appear on Leedy and Slingerland drums).  This is a drum with great potential if completely restored.  There are 8 extra holes.  One, most likely, from a heater element and two from a non-
original strainer at some time in it’s history.  The black nickel is in fair condition, the engraving is strong.  Some small corrosion spots and a few dings.  This rare model would make an excellent restoration
project for the collector or player.
