Original, first generation Hinger Touch Tone timpani mallets with thread wrapped bamboo shafts, This pair of mallets was one of the earliest pairs made by the Hinger Touch-Tone company in the 1960's. The bamboo shafts are 16” in length with a 11/16" diameter. The shafts are wrapped with a fine thread to create an incredibly comfortable handle for the player. Mr. Hinger himself would often spend time wrapping the thread around these shafts while he was listening to his students play. These are very rare pair of mallets to have survived since the late 1960’s and are still in very good, playable condition. In fact, this pair appears to have had only very light user. The felt is a bit loose on the head but these can easily be re-wrapped if desired and still have many years of life left. These are also perfect for a collector of the early Hinger Touch-Tone products.
