When Greorge Way started his company in the late 1950’s he was interested in making quality instruments and contacted Fred Hinger to ask for his evaluation of his drums. There were no official contracts of endorsements but in appreciation of his input George Way gave Mr. Hinger a drum of his choice. Mr. Hinger requested this 12”x14” field drum. Equipped with Hinger Yellow cable snares this drum provides a sensitive and powerful sound much more than one would expect from the smaller sized field drum. A great drum and a great piece of history from the personal collection of Fred Hinger. Of interest is the front page of the Geo. Way Drum catalog from 1961 pictures Fred Hinger with this drum. This is in effect an endorser’s drum.
