Ludwig & Ludwig model No. 433 American Brass cymbal. Ludwig own make cymbal with the Ludwig trademark stamped into the cymbal. Ludwig made American Brass cymbals for use with their drum sets in sizes ranging from 7" to 13". These were used for a variety of effects for pedal and "sock" work. This size cymbal was often used as the cymbal mounted to the bass drum hoop to be struck by the bass drum pedal "clanger". The Ludwig own make cymbals were "spun" from brass and have very small ridges on the top of the plates. These are heavy weight cymbals for their size, this cymbal weighs 720 grams. Owning some of these cymbals in a range of sizes is a must for the collector of early Ludwig drums.
