Completely original 3 1/2 octave Deagan 262 Artist Special xylophone with rosewood bars. As shown in the 1930's Deagan catalog above, these xylophones were originally designed for xylophone soloists. With wider bars than other professional xylophones, ranging from 2 1/4" - 2", this xylophone has a warm, dark tone unlike any other xylophone. The ends of the bars are rounded, giving this instrument a truly elegant appearance. Our all original 262 has suspended bars in excellent condition. All insulators and suspension chords are in perfect condition. The nickel-plated frame and brass resonators are also in perfect condition. All four original ball bearing wheels roll freely. The rosewood bars are in beautiful condition overall with only a few small dents on a few bars and the intonation is excellent. The Artist Special model xylophone is the perfect soloist instrument that could be used effectively in any ensemble setting.
