Ludwig & Ludwig 25 ½”x14” double tention bass drum with rare walnut finish. Featuring the Aero-Kraft ply shell with the word “WALNUT” stenciled on the inside of the shell. This is an excellent early Ludwig & Ludwig bass drum with good calf skin heads. One head has a small insignificant hole which does not affect the sound or resonance of the drum. It also has some splitting of the calf skin on the outer flesh hoop, again this does not affect the tension of the head. The 10 lug double tension, nickel plated hardware is in excellent overall condition. The original brass oval LUdwig badge is present and unmolested. The shell is in good condition with only moderate wear to the finish. One rim has a small 2” chip missing caused from a foot pedal attached. Overall this is a very solid and great sounding bass drum that makes a perfect foundation for a vintage outfit or for a chamber music setting.
