This is a unique opportunity to own a one of a kind DW Brass shell prototype orchestral snare drum developed by Bill Wanser, former Principal Percussionist with The Phoenix Symphony. Originally part of a DW project to develop an orchestral snare drum, all constituent parts were sold to Bill for prototyping.  The shell is a rolled heavy gauge brass alloy. Orchestral snare beads were installed into the bottom edge and gut snares mounted on the drum. DW eventually dropped the project, but this drum was used successfully with The Phoenix Symphony for many years. The instrument is very sensitive with a nice warm sound. There are two holes on one side of the drum that are “factory” holes where the DW badge would have been installed.
