Product Code: DSN69Ludwig’s modern version (1970’s) of the classic engraved “Black Beauty" Super Ludwig snare drum. This drum is immaculate with only a few light marks and no dings or dents in the 6 1/2" x 14" shell. Set up with a 10 strand snare combination of gut and wire, this drum sounds fantastic with a lot of crisp bite while at the same time being very sensitive. The original super sensitive snare mechanism works smoothly and all parts are in excellent condition. Serial # 1770923 on the Blue/Olive badge dates this drum to the late 1970's The shell engraving is clean and strong with "Ludwig Chicago" engraved inside one of the flowers making this a very attractive drum. Cast rims on top and bottom enhance the tuning and sound of the instrument. The original muffler has been removed from the drum but an era correct replacement will be provided upon request. There are no other alterations or modifications The engraved version of the “Black Beauty” is rare and sought after by players and collectors because of their great sound and inspiring looks.
