Hinger Private Collection Now Available
A rare opportunity to own memorabilia and personal instruments collected and played by Fred D Hinger, famous percussionist/timpanist. This collection also includes unique instruments and protoypes developed for the Hinger Touch Tone Corporation.
This is a rare vintage Ludwig & Ludwig Rooster Crow imitation as shown in the 1912 Ludwig & Ludwig catalog. Our Rooster Crow is in excellent condition and sounds terrific. H.A. Ward made these imitations and the handsome Ward logo is stamped into brass tube. The imitation is made of nickel-plated solid brass tubing, with an overall length of 6 3/8". This Rooster Crow whistle is from a collection of traps and sound effects formerly owned by Emil Kresse, principal percussionist and timpanist of the Philadelphia Orchestra (1901 – 1945) who passed them on to Fred D. Hinger, also a former principal percussionist and timpanist with the Philadelphia Orchestra (1948 – 1967) and Metropolitan Opera Orchestra (1967 – 1983). This is a unique opportunity to own a rare imitation with a fine provenance that will become a centerpiece of any vintage traps collection.
