Beuatifully reconditioned 1923-25 Ludwig and Ludwig 5”x14” Standard “All Round Model” model snare drum. This excellent snare drum is from the 1923-1925 era when Ludwig & Ludwig produced their top line standard snare drums with 8 lugs rather than the 6 lugs used on earlier versions. This drum has a heavy 2 piece shell with bearing edges that are bent back and soldered to the inside of the shell. These are among the best shells Ludwig ever made producing a full, resonant tone. This drum has been completely reconditioned and re-plated in bright nickel top to bottom including all of the hardware and the shell. All of the hardware on the drum is original. The only non-original parts are the heads and snares. The Ludwig shells of this era usually had the Ludwig logo lightly stamped into the side of the shell just to the left of the strainer. With the re-plating process this logo has been covered, however the strainer arm still has the pat. Pend. clearly showing. This is an excellent sounding drum and will make a nice addition to a vintage drum collection or a to a performer's drum rotation. This is an early 20th century Ludwig & Ludwig top of the line drum that looks and sounds like new.
