Product Code: DDS5This is a unique opportunity to own a beautiful 1926 Ludwig & Ludwig outfit with original Stipelgold finish; the only year this finish was produced. This set is virtually identical to the outfits pictured in the 1920's Ludwig & Ludwig catalogs. The finish on these drums is original with reconditioning. We have refreshed the color to its original brightness and rebuilt the Stipelgold finish in the few small spots that were damaged. The Art Gold hardware is original and in excellent condition. The solid brass shell Super Ludwig snare drum has the famous Ludwig heavy brass two-piece shell and reconditioned gut snares. Ludwig did not include snare guards as standard equipment with their Super Ludwig snare drums at this time. We can provide matching art gold reproduction snare guards upon request. The traps and clamps are all genuine Ludwig vintage instruments most with the Ludwig logo including the Chinese Tom Tom, tambourine, castagnettes, and American Brass cymbal, which is very rare indeed. The front head on the bass drum is a Ludwig logo Mountain Lake scene with a small sailboat in the scene, which is very rare. There are two small tears at the edge of the scene but it is in excellent condition overall. Calfskin heads on the snare drum and bass drum appear to be original.
