Bob White Imitation

Bob White Imitation
Product Code: COHT13
Availability: Recently Sold

Rare Bob White slide whistle imitation is similar to the one shown in the 1920 Dixie Music House and 1930 Leedy catalogs shown.  This Bob White imitation was one of a series of imitations sold sold in "Dummers Vade Mecum", a drummer's catalog of instruments, traps, and hardware similar to and including items from Ludwig and other manufacturers. Drummers of the time kept a large collection of imitations and sound effects to enhance their performances in the theaters of the day.  Our Bob White slide whistle is from a collection of traps and sound effects formerly owned by Emil Kresse, principal percussionist and timpanist of the Philadelphia Orchestra (1901 – 1945) who passed them on to Fred D. Hinger, also a former principal percussionist and timpanist with the Philadelphia Orchestra (1948 – 1967) and Metropolitan Opera Orchestra (1967 – 1983). This is a unique opportunity to own a rare imitation with a fine provenance that will become a centerpiece of any vintage traps collection.
