All-In-One Trap

All-In-One Trap
Product Code: COHT7
Availability: Recently Sold

This is a rare vintage "All-In-One Trap" sold by both Leedy and Ludwig in their catalogs in the 1920's and 30's. The catalog pages shown were taken from the 1920 Ludwig 1920 and  1930 Leedy catalogs. Our All-In-One trap is in excellent condition and sounds terrific. The trap is made of hard, vulcanized rubber. The adjusting slide allows the player to raise or lower the pitch to produce many of the sounds produced by other imitations. All black with "P.S. Olt Pekin.ILLS." stamped on the barrel. The total length of this whistle is 4 3/4". From the same maker as our P.S. Olt Duck quack, this All-In-One trap is from a collection of traps and sound effects formerly owned by Emil Kresse, principal percussionist and timpanist of the Philadelphia Orchestra (1901 – 1945) who passed them on to Fred D. Hinger, also a former principal percussionist and timpanist with the Philadelphia Orchestra (1948 – 1967) and Metropolitan Opera Orchestra (1967 – 1983). This is a unique opportunity to own a rare imitation with a fine provenance that will become a centerpiece of any vintage traps collection.
