Unique early 20th century Auto/Locomotive Chug-Chug imitation. As shown in the 1910 Yerkes "Realistic Sound Effects for Moving Pictures catalog, our Auto Chug-Chug imitation has a 1" deep mahogany shell with 10" sheet metal "heads" on each side. The inside is filled with BB's that roll around inside when the imitation is rotated or shaken. When the imitation is shaken back and forth quickly is makes a very convincing early auto or locomotive imitation. By swirling the imitation in a circle, the player can create a very convincing ocean surf/wave imitation. The metal heads are stamped "Yerkes Mfg Co. NY". The imitation is in perfect condition and has a beautiful vintage patina. This is a unique trap from the vaudeville, silent movie era that will make a great addition to any traps collection.
