Late 1950's Slingerland model 5-N Swing-Master outfit. As shown in the attached 1959 catalog, this 3-piece, economy priced outfit is the perfect introduction to vintage Slingerland drum outfits. These 3-ply shells are in great shape with natural mahogany interiors and solid maple re-rings. The classic blue and silver duco finish is in very good condition for its age. There is some shipping but little or no flaking of the paint. The original BD rims have some paint loss but retain their original blue sparkle inlays. All of the nickel plated hardware it original to the drums. The tom-tom and snare drum have single flanged hoops with rim clips. The Sound King lugs are all in great condition with the exception of a small spot of corrosion on one of the snare drum lugs. The original first generation black and brass badges with the full loop at the bottom of the "S" are in great shape. The 8-lug 5 1/2" x 14" snare drum is complete with its original 3-point strainer. A 12" x 22" bass drum rounds out the set. Complete with Slingerland adjustable BD spurs, a Slingerland "Epic" pedal, and Slingerland tom mount. This is a great gigging set that will give its new owner a warm vintage sound at a reasonable price.
