Beautifully preserved Gene Krupa Radio King snare drum from the early 1950's. As shown in the attached 1950 catalog, this is Gene Krupa's favorite size from back in the day. These 5 1/2" deep solid maple shells are hard to find today. This drum is in excellent overall condition. The white marie pearl has a moderate amount of yellowing but it is even in color and there are no issues of any kind with the wrap. All of the nickel plated hardware is original and in terrific condition. The top rim has a clearly visible Radio King stamp. All lugs and tension rods work perfectly as does the 3-point strainer with its original extension arm. The solid maple is also in excellent condition. It is in round within 1/32" and moden heads fit and tune up nicely. There is a small repair to the metal mounting strap on the original Radio King snares but they seat nicely on the bottom head. This is an excellent, all original drum that will make a nice addition to any Radio King outfit.
