Great sounding late 20's Ludwig "Dance" model, nickel over brass snare drum with 8 tube lugs and heavy two-piece nickel over brass brass shell. This is the shell everyone is looking for and the Dance Model, size 4" x 14" shell, is a unique and sought after instrument. These drums have great sensitivity in the softer dynamic range while maintaining good power and presence for louder playing. The shell is in excellent condition. The original late 1920's Pioneer throw-off works perfectly. This throw-off is the earlier verision with the piece of the mechanism with the snare holes is perpendicular to the shell. All of the tension rods have been replaced with modern chrome tension rods and the top rim is also a period correct chrome replacement. The drum has older 1960's Ludwig heads with 1960's script logo Ludwig snares. This is a great sounding player's drum and an excellent opportunity to own a heavy shell NOB 1920's Dance Model snare drum at a great price.
