This is a great example of a Ludwig Pioneer 6 1/2" x 14" Pioneer snare drum from the early 1960's. Though there is no interior date stamp, the drum has a pre-serial Ludwig brass keystone badge and white interior paint dating the drum the 1961 - 63. The nickel plated hardware is all original including NOB rims with a drop gate, WFL logo P-83 and P-32 throw-off anf butt plate, 6 bowtie lugs. The snares and bottom head appear to be original for the drum. The natural mahogany finish has a few small scratches and dings but is in excellent overall condition. These 6 1/2" deep six lug snares have a nice warm, resonant vintage sound that is unique and matches up nicely with 1950's or 1960's vintage outfits.
