This is the standard model 6 ½”x14” Touch-Tone snare drum wood shell proto-type. Experimentation with wood shell drums was part of the process Bill and Fred Hinger went through as they continually looked to new ideas and innovations with sound. Although the wood shell is an excellent material for snare drums they produced most of the drums from a resin shell material. This drum however, is their proto-type of a wood shell version. Great sounding very sensitive drum just slightly different sound color from the resin shell. All the same features of the resin shell version except a replaced throw-off.
