Hinger Private Collection Now Available
A rare opportunity to own memorabilia and personal instruments collected and played by Fred D Hinger, famous percussionist/timpanist. This collection also includes unique instruments and protoypes developed for the Hinger Touch Tone Corporation.
Classic, vintage Ludwig model No. 544 slapstick. The design of these shorter, wider slapsticks makes them very easy to play with one hand in fast rhythms. The center cut out in the wood and the channel cut into the inside of the tips help these slapsticks sound loud and crisp. This instrument is in great shape with the black ebonized finish in excellent condition with a clear Ludwig decal visible on the handle. The spring functions perfectly and some small surface cracks, none of which extend through the wood have been fortified with glue. This is a great example of a rare and attractive early 20th century trap that will make a nice addition to any collection.
