Shot Cushion
Product Code: TRE46
Availability: Recently Sold

Super rare combination shot cushion and sandboard. As shown in the pre-1920 Dixie Music House catalog attached, this sound effect has two different shot cushions on one side and a sandboard on the reverse side. One of the shot cushions is heavy canvas that imitates a galloping horse while the other cushion has a leatherized surfaced that imitates gun fire or a slap to the face. The reverse side is a large sand board for ocean effects or any other sand board effect. The overall size of the imitation is 19 1/2" L x 11" W, It is well made on a heavy wooden frame. Comes complete with the original flat sticks. Our combination shot cushion, sand board is in excellent overall, all original condition. There is a little staining on the canvas and one small pin hole in the leather cushion. The sand board still have plenty of grit left and only one tiny hole in one corner of he sandpaper. Not many of these imitations survived so this is a very rare find. It will make a nice and useful addition to any period sound effect collection.
