Rare, vintage Frank Wolf tambourine. Wooden shell tambourines from this era with an original calf head are extremely hard to find. This full size, 10" diameter tambourine has a single row of heavy silver jingles and its original calf head stamped "Frank Wolf Drummer's Supplies 232 W 48th St. N.Y.C.". The head nice and tight with no tears or holes. Along with a thin coat of glue under the head, there is a small metal ring clamp around the perimeter of the head which fits down into a groove in the shell. There are 12 pair of original jingles in the hard wood shell. There is a small crack in the shell on one side that has been repaired with glue. There is also a small metal finger grip on the inside of the shell to assist the player. This is a great sounding, vintage tambourine that is light and easy to play.
