This is a very early, one of a kind, pair of Hinger timpani mallets with bamboo shafts and hard, felt covered head. This lightweight pair of mallets with long, thin bamboo shafts is perfect for classical rep. The bamboo material is in excellent shape with no cracks or chips. The shafts are straight with black tape grips and a nice stained finish. There are no clear Hinger logos on the shafts because these mallets were never marketed by the Hinger company. This appears to be a one of a kind pair made for a former student. The red tape accents just under the felt heads and at the end of each shaft are clear indicator of Hinger's work. The felt heads are light and hard. There is some soiling of the felt and the seams are marked with a felt pen but the felt material is in excellent condition. This is a great pair of sticks for a collector oe player.
