Here is a beautiful completely reonditioned Deagan Artist's Special xylophone. The sound of the Deagan Artist's Special is unmatched by any other Deagan instrument. The wide graduated bars are 2 1/4" in width at the bottom and 2" wide at the top end. All of the bars are rounded on both ends giving the instrument a distinctive look to go along with its unique, warm sound. The bars on this instrument are suspended on modern jacks which allows them to be easily removed when the instrument is broken down for transporting. The nickel plated brass resonators are in excellent condition. As this is one of the later model 262's, the resonators are flat on top and are not tunable. The bars have their original A=440 tuning but are slightly out of tune. The purchase price of this instrument includes tuning and refinishing of the bars to the new owner's specifications. All of the nickel plated parts of the rails and stand have been powder coated with nickel colored paint that matches the original finish giving these parts many more decades of no-maintenance service. The oak rails have been completely restored and refinished. The original ball bearing wheels roll freely and the frame is sturdy. New insulators and suspension cord for the bars are also included. This is a beautiful instrument for the xylophone soloist that will also be wonderful in any ensemble setting.
