Hinger Private Collection Now Available
A rare opportunity to own memorabilia and personal instruments collected and played by Fred D Hinger, famous percussionist/timpanist. This collection also includes unique instruments and protoypes developed for the Hinger Touch Tone Corporation.
Beautiful Deagan 593 Commander vibraphone from 1976. This one-owner instrument is in like new condition. It's graduated, silver bars are in perfect shape. The wrinkle black finish on the legs and frame is clean and bright, with only a couple of scuff marks on the legs. The variable speed motor works perfectly and quietly with the controls on top of the instrument to give the player easy access. New damper felt, insulators, and strings mean this will be in perfect playing condition for another 40 + years. The long pedal bar gives the player better dampening control regardless of which range is being played. Deagan vibraphones from this era have a warm sound with minimal stick attack very much like the Musser Pro-Vibe from the same era. Folding frame and easy removal of the resonators, pedal bar, and bracing make tear down and set-up a breeze. Great, professional quality instrument with a hard to find vintage sound.
