This is a beautiful and rare, Deagan model 865 3-octave professional xylophone. The model 865 has the same size bars as its bigger cousins the model 870 and 872 all of which are widely used by professional percussionists today. These 1 5/8" w by 15/16" rosewood bars produce the warm yet bright tone that Deagan is famous for. Tis instrument is in excellent condition with all original parts, including the original insulators which are still in excellent condition. The only thing that has been replaced it the key suspension cord. All of the nickel plated parts, resonators and stand are perfect with no rust or corrosion. The rosewood bars are the select "NAGAED" bars with nice straight grain and original tuning. There are no dents or splintered bars. The original finish is very good with only a few small age spots. This is a fine xylophone that is perfect for fitting into tight spaces on stage or in a pit but will produce a full professional sound. A custom made 49"L x 18" D x 9" H wooden carrying case that fits the entire xylophone is also included.
