Deagan Cathedral Chimes

Deagan Cathedral Chimes
Product Code: KIC1
Availability: Recently Sold

This is a rare set of Deagan "Cathedral" chimes from the 1920's. These chimes have 1" tubes arranged in a single row on a simple but sturdy rack. The brass tubes come in two different colors. The nickel plated tubes are the natural or "white" keys and the copper colored tubes are the accidentals or "black" keys. This instrument was often seen at the back of the band stand or in the pit where it was used for clock tower effects etc... This set has cast legs and a steel top tube making a solid frame. The middle g# tube was replaced from an original, longer tube from the same era. It's a great sounding and looking instrument that offers a terrific backdrop to a vintage outfit from the vaudeville era. Deagan keyboard percussion instruments were the gold standard for decades and the great drummer's from the vaudeville era all coveted original Deagn brand instruments.
