This is an extremely rare set of 17 Deagan Musical Coins in perfect condition. As shown in the attached Deagan novelty catalog, Musical Coins are one of the novelty instruments that J.C. Deagan company invented in the early 20th century. These tuned coins are designed to be spun on a hard surface (i.e. concrete or granite). As they rotate on their small teeth they create a ringing sound at the pitch stamped on their face. The coins range in size from 4 3/4" for the low E flat to 3 1/4" on the high E flat. The seventeen coins in this set do not make a chromatic set. Each nickel plated coin has its pitch stamped into its face. Some of the coins are marked with the "E R Street" maker mark but they are Deagan coins. The set is in perfect condition with no plating loss or corrosion. The nickel plating is strong and none of the teeth have been bent or worn down. This is one of the rarest traps to have ever been produced. There are only a few other sets known to exist.
