A beautifully refurbished 1920’s 5”x14” Ludwig & Ludwig “Super Ludwig” with “DeLuxe” finish (copper plated hardware). This drum came to us with its original covering removed and the “deluxe” finish in very worn condition. Given the high quality of the solid maple shell and parts, we decided to recover the drum in Charcoal Pearl and have all the hardware re-plated in the original deluxe finish. The interior was also repainted white to match the original. Though this is not a color wrap that was available in the late 1920's, we feel that it matches the deluxe finish beautifully. We hope you agree. The drum retains its original bearing edges and all original hardware with the exception of a lug mounting bolt or two. We added new heads and the snares have been rebuilt with yellow cable which simulates the gut which would have been an original option. The drum sounds as great as it looks. It has the warm vintage sound as expected and is very sensitive. This would make a great addition to any collection for it’s beauty but is also a great player's drum given its excellent vintage sound and great sensitivity.
