This is a Peacock Sparkle covered, late 1950's, 3-ply Gretsch Broadkaster "Name Band" model snare durm in excellent condition. The Peacock Sparkle covering is the "unicorn" for vintage Gretsch snare drum collectors. Very few drums with this covering were produced in the 1950's making them exceddingly hard to find today. This example is in excellent, all original overall condition. The peacock sparkle is somewhat faded, but there is still enough red and green color left for the wrap to come to life under the lights. It is truly exciting to see this drum in person. The heavy, 3-ply shell with clear interior is in excellent condition. All of the chrome plated hardware is in very good to excellent condition including the original micro-sensitive strainer, internal muffler, double flanged counter hoops and snare wires. Everything is in good working order. This is a very clean example of one of the rarest snare drums from the 1950's suitable for the collector or player.
