This is a legendary Hinger “Pipe” drum built by the Hinger Touch-Tone Corp. dated 4/19/73, #139.  These early Hinger snare drums became legendary as the first heavy iron pipe drums built which delivered a very sensitive and dramatic dynamic range.  There were very few of these made making them one of the rarest and most sought after drums today as both an iconic collectable snare drum but mostly for its uniqueness and quality of sound. This specific drum was originally used with the Cincinnati Symphony and then The Phoenix Symphony.  It remains in excellent, all original condition.  This drum is also one of only ten produced with the machined lugs hand made by Bill Hinger (Mr. Fred Hinger’s son).  This drum has a  high quality calf top head and gut snares.  A set of original cable snares, which match those supplied with the drum, could be included if desired.  These drums do not come on the market very often and their value continues to increase.  This original Hinger “Pipe” drum would serve well as a centerpiece of any collection of snare drums. Don’t miss a rare opportunity to acquire a true legendary drum.
