This is a beautiful, all original, Leedy engraved Black Elite snare drum in as found condition. The drum has never been altered or restored and in i remakably good condition. All of the hardware has it's original nobby gold finish The 8 elite, 4 scew lugs are do not have any splits and all of the tension rods are original. This drum has a Speedway throw-off, with its original extnsion arm and thub screw, putting it late in the production history of the Elite model. We estimate tis drum was produced in 1928 as shown in the attached Leedy catalog "R". There is a small amount of corrosion on one or two of the panels and a little on the top rim. The top rim shows a clear Leedy stamp and the shell is in great overall shape. The bottom wire wound silk snares are also likely original to the drum. This is a great all original, as found snare drum that will make a great, rare addition to any collection.
