This is a beautiful Leedy "Full Dress" Broadway Parallel with the stunning combination of nobby gold hardware and black diamond pearl wrap. Leedy designated these early, ornate, top of the line, drums as "Full Dress" models due to their combination of flashy features like gold plated hardware, engraved rims, and ornately patterned wraps. The combination of these features is truly eye catching. This Broadway Parallel snare drum is a beautiful example of a "Full Dress" model. It has the first generation parallel mechanism with the throw-off lever that falls away from the drum. It also includes "X" or box lugs and engraved rims with nobby gold plating that is in excellent condition. The black diamond pearl wrap is also in excellent condition with no cracks, splits or chips. The snare wires are the original wire wound silk completing the era correct presentation of the drum. The interior of the drum is bright white which was probably added sometime after the drum was made. The badge is the original Leedy - Elkhart script badge that also has a second badge on the interior mounted with the same grommet. This is a rare double badge that we believe is original to the drum. There is some slight plating loss on the throw-off lever as well as a small repair at the pivot points but the parallel mechanism operates smoothly. This rare drum will make a beautiful addition to any Leedy or vintage snare drum collection.
