This a nice example of an early Ludwig & Ludwig Junior model snare drum. As shown in the 1932 Ludwig & Ludwig catalog, this 3 1/2" x 13" brass shell drum was designed for student drummers. The hardware and snares are all original and in very good, playable condition. Owned and played by Peter Kogan for many years during his career playing in the Cleveland Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony and the Minnesota Orchestra. The nickel plating is in good overall condition. There are a few imperfections in the shell and nickel over steel rims but no major dents, extra holes, or issues of any kind. A nice set of older wire wound silk snares are mounted on the drum. The batter head is a beautiful Amrawco Professional batter head. The bottom head is a Leedy & Ludwig calf clunk head. All parts function perfectly. This is a fully functional student model drum that will be a nice addition to any collection of vintage drums.
