This is an early 1980's Ludwig Slotted Coliseum snare drum in stunning red cortex wrap. The slotted coliseum shell was Ludwig's version of the Hinger space-tone concept. As described in the attached 1983 Ludwig catalog, the slot in the shell gives the drum a louder, more open sound which gives the impression that multiple drums are being played together. This drum is in excellent overall condition with all original parts including 12 bowtie lugs, P-85 throw-off and Chicago, pre-Monroe badge to go with its original Ludwig logo snare side head. Ludwig coliseum snare drums produce a great sound that's a perfect fit for a 1980's set.
