This is great sounding early 1920's Ludwig "Dance" model, nickel over brass snare drum with 8 tube lugs and heavy two-piece nickel over brass shell. This is the shell everyone is looking for and the Dance Model, size 4" x 14" shell, is a unique and sought after instrument. These drums have great sensitivity in the softer dynamic range while maintaining good power and presence for louder playing. The shell is in excellent condition with just one minor ding and virtually no plating loss. The rims show some minor plating loss but look very good overall. The throw-off and butt plate show plating loss typical of the era but work properly. Overall this drum is a conservative 8 out of 10 for condition, it would be hard to find another as nice as this one. Tension rods and clips are not guaranteed original to the drum but are original of the era. Throw off and butt plate are original to the drum. The heads and snares are new. This is a great sounding drum for a player or collector and an excellent opportunity to own a heavy shell NOB 1920's Dance Model snare drum.
