This is a 1939 WFL Paramount 7" x 14" snare drum. The Paramount model was WFL's budget model professional snare drum from this era as shown in the attached listing from the 1939 catalog. This example has a "swing" model size shell that was popular during the late 30's and 40's. The hardware is all original aside from the updated throw-off. The original hardware include 8 Zephyr lugs, stick chopper hoops, and a P-32 spread snare butt. The model P-35 throw-off has been replaced with a later model P-83 WFL throw leaving one small extra hole in the shell that is hidden under the throw-off. The duco finish appears to have been repainted at some point in the past. The 3-ply shell is in great condition making this a great deep shell vintage sounding drum for a bargain price.
