Hinger Private Collection Now Available
A rare opportunity to own memorabilia and personal instruments collected and played by Fred D Hinger, famous percussionist/timpanist. This collection also includes unique instruments and protoypes developed for the Hinger Touch Tone Corporation.
This is a WFL Supreme Concert snare drum from 1957. This is a transition era version of the inimitable 6 lug Ludwig Pioneer snare drum. It has a 3-ply shell with mahogany interior and maple reinforcement rings in a 5 1/2" x 14" size. The nickel plated hardware is in excellent, unrestored condition with a nice vintage patina. The hardware is all original including P-83 throw-off and P-32 butt plate, both with a WFL logo. There is a clear, red ink, June 25, 1957 date stamp on the inside of the shell. The original snares and natural mahogany finish complete this nice example of a classic WFL/Ludwig transition period snare drum.
