This is a complete Chinese tom tom and mount set form the late 1920's - 30's. As shown in the attached 1933 Leedy catalog, this Chinese tom tom is the largest of the three mounted Chinese tom tom sold during this period. It has brightly colored scened painted on both heads along with the words "Make in China". Drums of this size are very heavy and require a very sturdy mount to hold them in place. The mount offered with this drum has two clamps that attach to the BD counter hoop and the bracket attaches to the drum shell with four screws. The slightly angled post can be articulated 360 degrees along two planes making it easy to get the drum into a good playing position. Both heads are in excellent condition with no holes or missing tacks. There is some missing paint on the shell which is common with the drums from this era and enhances its vintage appearance This drum is shown in the pictures attached to a 28" bass drum from the era to give a sense of its scale. Thes drums of this size are extremely rare and difficult to mount. This will make a unique addition to any early 20th century outfit.
