Here is an early 1980's Ludwig Melodic Tom Tom with a Ludwig Modular Tom Tom holder. This 8" x 12", single headed tom tom is wrapped in white cortex that is in very good overall condition. All of the chrome hardware is in excellent condition including the six classic lugs and modular tom holder. This early version of the Melodic tom has the silver finish band around the bottom of the drum to protect the edge of tge wrap. These appeared in the early 80's. The rounded blue and olive bades and 7 digit serial number confirm the dating. The six ply shell is in excellent condition and the absence of an internal reinforcement ring enhances the sound of these drums. There is one small crack at the edge of the cortex wrap that has been repaired to keep it stable. This drum will be a great enhancement to any early 1980's Ludwig rock outfit.
