This is an early Duplex 3”x14 ½” shell size (15”x5” as described in the Duplex catalogs) with 14 double tension lugs. It has a rosewood veneered shell and hoops with nickel plated hardware. This drum has been cleaned and polished then re-lacquered, to restore the original look of the drum. The drum has its original wire wound silk snares that have stretched out a bit after over 100 years of being on this drum. The original flesh hoops have been preserved for the newly tucked skin heads. This is a great example of a hard to find drum from the late 1800s to early 1900s which will provide a nice piece of drum history to enhance any drum collection.
