This is a unique opportunity to own a one of a kind DW Edge prototype orchestral snare drum, developed by Bill Wanser, Principal Percussionist with The Phoenix Symphony. Originally part of a project to develop an orchestral snare drum with DW, all constituent parts were sold to Bill for prototyping. The shell has a 10-ply, all maple center section with bands of extra-heavy gauge brass on the top and bottom. Orchestral snare beads were cut into the bottom edge and cable snares were mounted on the drum. DW eventually dropped the project, but this drum was used successfully with The Phoenix Symphony for many years. The instrument is very sensitive with a nice warm sound.
