Hinger Private Collection Now Available

A rare opportunity to own memorabilia and personal instruments collected and played by Fred D Hinger, famous percussionist/timpanist. This collection also includes unique instruments and protoypes developed for the Hinger Touch Tone Corporation.
This is an authentic FIPS practice drum from the early 1960's. As shown in the attached patent drawings filed by their inventor, F. J. Ippolito in 1961. These were designed to sit in a regular snare drum stand and played as type of practice pad or drum. The metal rim around the edge is strong and easily support the weight of the interior pad material in a drum stand. These were also designed to be used in sets as a practice drum set. They were sold by the Rogers drum company as shown in the attached 1962 Rogers catalog. Not many were made, making this a rare find that will make a nice addition to any practice pad collection.
