This is a beautiful 1920's Ludwig two-toned block and Chinese tom tom set with small triangle. As shown in the attached 1928 Ludwig catalog, the model No. 955 multi-clamp is used as the base for this compact set of useful traps that can be mounted to a bass drum counterhoop. It includes a Ludwig branded two-toned cylindrical woodblock, 10" Chinese tom tom and 5" triangle. All three traps are in excellent condition. The two-tone block has a clear Ludwig decal. Both sides of the block sound great with no cracks or chips. It is 11" in length with a 2 1/8" diameter. The 10" Chinese tom tom also sound great with two beautifully painted heads that had no holes or missing tacks. The 5" triangle is unbranded but appears to be a Ludwig triangle from the era. The nickel plating on the multi-clamp is in excellent overall condition with only some slight plating loss in a few spots. This set-up is typical of the combination of traps drummers from the vaudeville era used for their shows. It's a quick, unique way to extend the range of effects to any vintage outfit from the 1920's.
