Here is one of the earliest pair of Hinger timpani mallets we have found to date. The tapered wooden shafts are topped with a threaded metal washer like old Goodman mallets. There is a wooden seat at the top upon which a stack of thin felt wafers are compressed to create a compact medium-hard head. Each shaft shows a clear "Hinger Touch-Tone" brand which was common in the earliest mallets produced by the company. The sticks are in great playable condition with little apparent wear to the shafts or felt.
