Here is a beautiful Deagan Artist's Special xylophone with rare NAGAED bars. The sound of the Deagan Artist's Special is unmatched by any other Deagan instrument. The wide graduated bars are 2 1/4" in width at the bottom and 2" wide at the top end. All of the bars are rounded on both ends giving the instrument a distinctive look to go along with its unique, warm sound.  This instrument is one of the very early Deagan models. The bars are suspended on cord and rest on a suspended cord key bed. This suspension system allows the bars to resonate to their full potential, The nickel plated brass resonators are slightly beveled at the top to help project the sound toward the audience. The bottom 1/2 octave has tunable resonators so the picth can be fine tuned in any weather. All of the select, NAGAED rosewood bars are in excellent condition with no splintering or chipping. The bars have their original A=440 tuning. The instrument is currently in tune with itself but the price includes tuning to the specifications of the new owner if desired. All of the nickel plating is in excellent condition. The original ball bearing wheels roll freely and the frame is sturdy. The oak support on the low end is a replacement that matches the original perfectly, right down to the 262 stamped underneath in the wood. There are a couple of extra holes in the original metal cover over the top of the rail on the naturals at the bass end. A few of the resonatros have small cracks but they are small and do not compromise the functioning of the instrument. This is a beautiful instrument for the xylophone soloist that will also be wonderful in any ensemble setting.
