Beautiful Deagan No. 844 Drummer's Special with completely reconditioned frame and all original rosewood bars. All parts of the frame on this instrument have been completely reconditioned to better than new condition. The oak rails have been refinished and look beautiful. The hard felt keybeds have been replaced with heavy black tubing which allows the bars to resonate more freely and enhances the sound and projection of the instrument. All insulators have been replaced with fresh rubber and the strings have been replaced with modern cord. The metal parts of the frame have been overpainted with fresh gray paint so they look like new and the legs are long which allows the instrument to be played while standing. A short set of legs can be provided upon request. The brass resonators have their original nickel plating which is in excellent condition. The bars are in very good condition. There is no splintering or denting. One of the bars has a slight chip at the edge but it is hardly noticeable and doesn't affect the sound of the xylophone. The bars have their original tuning and have never been altered. They are a little flat relative to pitch but we can arrange to have the bars tuned to the new owner's specs prior to shipping. The Deagan Drummer's special is one of the most popular and useful xylophones Deagan produced. They produce a terrific sound for a compact instrument that is easy to transport and easy to play. This is the perfect instrument for any working percussionist.
