Vintage Deagan 870 professional xylophone with NAGAED bars The Deagan 870 is the gold standard in orchestral xylophones. The non-graduated bars are 1 5/8" wide by 15/16" thick making these xylophones very easy to play. This is one of the ealier model 870's that Deagan produced. Instead of the 870 stamp that became standard in later models, the low F natural shows the NAGAED stamp indicating that these bars are made from Deagan's select Honduran rosewood. The solid brass resonators have beveled tops which reflect the sound toward the audience, and away from the player. This is another feature of early Deagan instruments. The bars are in very good, original condition. The frame has been reconditioned with new oak rails, new gray powder coating on the originsl frame, and al new insulators and string. The solid brass resonatos have a few cracks but the nickel plating is in excellent overall condition. This is a tremendous sounding and looking professional quality instrument in tip top, fully restored condition. Retuning can be arranged upon request.
