This early Leedy wide bar xylophone is an excellent concert instrument. There is no model number on the xylophone but it closely matches the early Solo-Tone instruments in the Leedy catalogs. There is a clear Leedy logo stamped on the "A" bars. The graduated bars are 2 ¼” wide in the low range from F to C and 2” wide from C- high C. The sounds of these bars is fabulous, with a rich warm xylophone sound that easily cuts through the largest ensembles. The instrument frame was refurbished many years ago with the metal parts, including the resonators, powder coated in gold while the wood rails and end pieces of the frame were painted flat black. The contrast between the gold and black make for a regal appearance not unlike a black beauty snare drum. The bars have their original tuning and remain in tune at A=440. This is a great opportunity to own a superb and rare, concert instrument with high quality rosewood bars.
